The Miller-Ford M.33.2-Z-21

Glossy medium chocolate brown with lighter steel brown toning covering the devices. The obverse is less detailed than the reverse, perhaps a VG10/F15 split. No corrosion or verdigris. There is a shallow lamination in the hair on the obverse and a couple thin fissures on the right side of the reverse; otherwise the surfaces are smooth. A dull diagonal nick on the jaw near the throat is a good identifying mark. Not perfect but nice for the grade. The date is bold and the legends are complete. Superior to the Taylor example of this tough variety and it comes with a very nice provenance. Weight 122.3 grains.

Ex Henry C. Miller Collection, Thomas L. Elder, 5/29/1920:1961-John J. Ford, Stack’s 5/10/2005:356
