Significantly sharper where the designs were properly struck up but the planchet is egg-shaped and much of it shows shallow fissures that blunt the details, especially on the reverse. Minor roughness shows in a few places but there are no marks or verdigris. Partly glossy medium brown and chocolate. The date is weakened by the planchet flaws bit it is easily readable. Early die state. Weight 97.4 grains.
