Glossy medium chocolate brown. No roughness but there are some rim bruises on the left side of the obverse, another at IT in UNITED, and a small pit or chip on the shoulder. LDS with a strong die crack through the D in UNITED and lighter cracks at TY in LIBERTY. The date is weak but easily readable as are the majority of the legends.
