Very attractive frosty light chocolate brown. There is a bit of fine chipping at the cheek of the portrait and at the shield on the reverse, but overall the surfaces are really nice on this piece. Might deserve a slightly higher grade but there is a spot of light corrosion on the first N in CONNEC. Late die state with obvious swelling at the top of the obverse and a massive cud break at the feet of the seated figure. Several fine die cracks also show on the reverse and the I in LIB is swollen and distorted by a small cud break. A beautiful example of a neat die state. Weight 121.4 grains.
