Miller Text Plate Coin
Very attractive glossy medium brown with light reddish chocolate toning in protected areas. No planchet flaws or verdigris. There is a bit of very fine roughness at NEC in CONNEC and some fine vertical hairline scratches on both sides, strongest at the shoulder of the portrait. The obverse is off center to the top leaving CON tight to the edge of the planchet. The reverse is nicely centered. The date and legends are bold. This piece is plated in Henry Miller’s 1920 text to illustrate the variety (page 71, Plate IV). And it comes with a nice provenance. Weight 130.2 grains.
