A second example of this very rare variety. Slightly glossy medium brown and light chocolate with darker olive brown toning in the fields and protected areas. There is fine roughness in the fields and protected areas but no verdigris. The major defects are a planchet flaw that goes completely through the coin from the top of the head to just above the 17 in the date. In addition there are two strong diagonal scratches from the jaw to the back of the head. On the plus side the date is complete and strong and the legends are all readable (although a few letters are weak). In addition the bisecting die crack across the reverse from the E in INDE to the L in LIB is clear. Superior to the Taylor example. Weight 131.6 grains.

Ex Chris Young.
