Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Mostly smooth with minor chipping on both sides, a larger chip at the rim below the shoulder, and a small but deeper void at the back of the head of the seated figure. The only other marks are two tiny pits in the field before the chest of the seated figure. Nicely struck and rather well centered on the planchet, just a bit tight at the bottom of the reverse. Clearly superior to the Taylor, Perkins, and Ford examples. Possibly finest known of this rare variety. Weight 119.5 grains.

Ex Bowers & Merena 11/11/1999:105 (plated).
