Glossy chocolate brown and steel. The planchet is smooth except for a few small chips in the center of the reverse but there are some notable contact marks. These include what looks like a short line of impressed dentils on the cheek and a half dozen small rim bruises around both sides. Without the marks this piece would deserve a slightly higher grade. Nicely struck slightly off center to K-1, the offset affecting only the dentils. The date and legends are complete and strong. Late die state with obvious swelling on the left side of the reverse that severely weakens the arm and hand. Weight 120.2 grains.
