Technically Very Fine but unevenly struck with severe weakness at the top of the obverse and the opposing area at the bottom of the reverse. In addition there are two horizontal scratches at the bottom of the obverse. Much of the planchet is smooth but microscopic granularity covers many of the protected areas, particularly on the reverse. Rather glossy dark olive brown and steel. Struck a bit off center to K-5. Only the last digit of the date was struck up, the RI in AUCTORI is missing, and the top of NNEC is off the planchet. The Miller attribution is neatly inked into the field off the chin. Weight 111.1 grains.

Ex Canfield Collection, Stack’s 3/22/1994:172-Robert M. Martin (includes the Martin collection envelope).
