Glossy medium brown and light chocolate blending to darker olive brown on the right side of the obverse. The surfaces are mostly smooth but there is some microscopic granularity in the field below ET LIB. There is a light scratch from the top of the head down to the upper part of the cheek and a collection of fine diagonal scratches in the granular area below ET LIB. The only planchet flaws are a thin one from the right side of the date into the field before the face of the seated figure and a small chip above her face. The date is strong and the legends are clear. The attribution is inked (in white) into the field before the chin. A nice piece, called “One of the best seen” in the Ford catalog, and it comes with an excellent provenance. Weight 169.9 grains.
