Glossy medium chocolate brown with lighter steel brown toning on the devices. The surfaces are smooth and this piece has excellent eye appeal for the grade. The only defect is a very gentle bend in the planchet causing a subtle wave from the E in INDE to the L in LIB. The obverse is slightly misaligned to K-1 while the reverse is off to K-7.5 leaving the date off the planchet (as usual for this variety). Far superior to the second Taylor example and arguably better than the Ford piece (which is the Miller plate coin). A variety that was missing from the famous Perkins collection. Only 14 examples known to us. Weight 121.0 grains.

Ex Bowers & Merena 7/30/2003:24 (where hidden in a lot of 3 pieces).
