Glossy chocolate and olive brown. Frosty luster shows in protected areas, particularly on the reverse, and faint hints of very faded mint color show around INDE. Mostly smooth but there are areas of tiny planchet chips on both sides, especially on the neck of the portrait and on the upper half of the seated figure thanks to a weak strike in that area. A beveled straight-edge planchet clip touches the shoulder of the portrait. Later die state with clashmarks and swelling on the obverse. The date is bold and the legends are clear. Weight 109.2 grains.
