Choice glossy light to medium brown blending to light chocolate in protected areas. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas and this piece has outstanding eye appeal. In fact there is very little wear on this piece but the obverse details are weakened by the extremely late state of that die, the latest seen. The surfaces are smooth except for minor chipping in the center of the obverse, mostly on the jaw. No marks or verdigris. Struck slightly off center to K-5. The date is strong and the legends are complete although a few letters are tight to the edge of the planchet. A wonderful piece that may justify a higher grade. And it comes with a nice provenance. Weight 114.2 grains.
